The Genomics Education Partnership has concluded our 2026 National Faculty Workshop, and we want to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who made it a success!
To all the faculty members who traveled to St. Louis: thank you for your time, energy, and commitment to expanding access to genomics education. It was a joy to gather in person again and feel the full strength of this community in one room.
Faculty rolled up their sleeves to move projects forward, and we made real headway on the strategy for our nonprofit branch, laying groundwork that will help the GEP grow and reach more students in the years ahead.
We also spent meaningful time in conversation about AI in academic spaces and teaching, exploring both the opportunities and the open questions AI raises for how we teach genomics and mentor undergraduate researchers. These discussions don’t end with a clean answer, but the willingness of our faculty to engage with them so thoughtfully says a lot about this community.
Finally, we loved hearing directly from members about how they’re putting GEP curriculum and science projects to work in their own classrooms. Seeing the many ways our materials show up in courses across the country is one of the best parts of every workshop!
As always, we are inspired by the dedication and curiosity of our GEP faculty network. Thank you again for joining us in St. Louis, and for everything you do throughout the year!
